Pumpkin Milano Cookie Ghosts are cuter than they are spooky.
If one of these ghosts “booed” at you, you’d likely laugh in their face. In fact, you probably got a chuckle out of my Instagram video on how to make them.
Adorable as these spooky cookies may be, they’re also laughably easy to make. You’ll note the tiny ingredient list, which makes these stress-free to make. Ain’t nothing scary about that!
The only thought that’s scary is that these ghosts could be making their distressed faces knowing you’re about to chow down on them. Is that too depressing? Sorry. We have to be a little morbid at Halloweentime!
If it makes you feel better, you can paint a smile on these guys too. Your ghosts are totally customizable. Cute, creepy, covered in sprinkles, simplistic – you name it. However you spin it, this is a Halloween treat that’s too cute to pass up.
A Few Tips Before You Get Cooking:
- Melting chocolate in the microwave is much faster than stovetop, but it’s also easier to mess up. The foolproof trick is to cook the chocolate in the microwave in intervals, and stir well in between.
- It’d be fun to also do a batch of tombstone Milanos to go with the Ghosts. Use grey-colored Candy Melts and simply write “RIP” on each.

- You’ll see in the video these didn’t originally have mouths. You can do them with or without.
- You can buy candy eyes in the baking section of most craft stores, if you want a little more detail.
- You can also find the Halloween bone-shaped sprinkles I used at the craft store.
Pumpkin Milano Ghosts
By The Smart Cookie Cook
Ingredients:
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- 1 package Pumpkin Spice Milano Cookies
- black icing
- bone-shaped Halloween sprinkles
Directions:
- Line a cookie tray with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Place chocolate in a deep, microwave-safe dish. Microwave on high for 30-second intervals, stirring well in between, until completely smooth and melted. If you stir between each interval, this should only take 2-3 intervals.
- Dip Milanos 3/4 in chocolate and let access drip off. Place on prepared tray. While the chocolate is still melty, place a single sprinkle centered on each cookie to represent a spooky bow tie.
- Transfer cookies to fridge to set, about 30 minutes.
- Use the black icing to draw on two eyes above the bow tie. You can draw a mouth too. Enjoy or store in the fridge in an air-tight container.
